Concept
Forward Furniture is an exhibition curated by Liv Vaisberg in collaboration with Dutch Design Week, dedicated exclusively to contemporary furniture design.
Returning for its second edition following a successful debut in 2025, the exhibition brings together emerging and established designers, galleries and editors from around the world. It presents realised furniture collections exploring new directions in collectible design, limited editions, craftsmanship, material innovation and conceptual thinking.
Each participating designer is required to present a cohesive collection of Three Furniture Pieces that together express a clear design vision.
Taking place in a spectacular industrial building, Forward Furniture will bring together around 100 international participants in one carefully curated exhibition.
Venue
Forward Furniture 2026 will take place at Gebouw TX, the former machine factory at the heart of Strijp-S and one of the most central locations within Dutch Design Week.
Occupying the entire 6th floor, the exhibition unfolds across more than 2,000 sqm of open, luminous space, surrounded by large windows and views over Eindhoven. The clean architecture, generous floorplan and abundance of natural light provide an exceptional setting for this year’s scenography and the presentation of around 100 designers.
Located directly next to the Klokgebouw and close to Piet Hein Eek, Gebouw TX will also bring together other major design presentations on the 5th floor, making the building a new destination during Dutch Design Week.
Curator
Liv Vaisberg is a curator, creative director and founder of Liv Vaisberg Office, an independent curatorial office specialising in contemporary design, art and cultural strategy.
She is the co-founder and artistic director of COLLECTIBLE, the leading international fair dedicated exclusively to 21st-century collectible design, held annually in Brussels and New York. She is also the co-founder and artistic director of the Design Biennale Rotterdam.
Alongside these initiatives, she curates exhibitions and advises institutions, brands and cultural organisations internationally. Her projects include collaborations with Maison&Objet, Vienna Design Week, Huidenclub Rotterdam, and numerous independent cultural initiatives across Europe and beyond.
Her work focuses on discovering emerging talent, supporting contemporary design practices, and creating ambitious international platforms that connect designers with collectors, institutions and design professionals.
